'And do not be conformed to this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may
prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.'
Romans 12:2

Halloween:
An innocent holiday?
or Something the devil dug up
to deceive people?

Let's take a look.

Halloween has become one of the most important holidays in the
United States.

'Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil
walks about like a roaring lion, seeking
whom he may devour.

1 Peter 5:8

Halloween is a holiday that is absolutely saturated with evil,
and nothing good can come from celebrating it.

The ancient pagan festival that eventually became known
as “Halloween” is still practiced today by occultists
all over the world.

Halloween is a "religious day" but it is not a Christian day.

Tom Sanguinet, former high priest in the Celtic tradition of Wicca
(witchcraft) said "The modern holiday we call Halloween has
its origins in the full moon closest to November 1, the witches’
New Year.
It was a time when the "spirits" (demons) were supposed to
be at their peak power and revisiting the earth planet."
He went on to say, "Halloween is purely and absolutely evil, and
there is nothing we ever have or will do that would
make it acceptable to the Lord Jesus."

The custom of Halloween is traced to the Druid festival
of the dead.

At that time the Roman Pantheon was built by Emperor Hadrian
in 100 A.D. as a temple to the goddess Cybele and other Roman
deities.
It became the principle place of worship.
Roman pagans prayed for the dead.
Rome was captured and the Pantheon fell into disrepair.

Emperor Phocas captured Rome and gave the Pantheon to
Pope Boniface IV in 609.
He reconsecrated it to the Virgin Mary and resumed using the
temple to pray for the dead, only now it was"Christianized",
as men added the unscriptural teaching of purgatory.

In 834 A.D. Gregory IV extended the feast for
all the church and it became known as
All Saint's Day, still remembering the dead.

Samhain, a Druid god of the dead was honored at Halloween in Britain,
France, Germany and the Celtic countries.

Samhain is also the name of the one honored at this festival,
the one called “lord of death”.

Samhain called together all wicked souls who died within the
past year and that were destined to inhabit animals.

This celebration of the dead honored the god of the dead on this
particular night.
Druids believed that souls of the dead returned to their former homes
to be entertained by the living.
Bonfires were built atop hills so they might find their way.

Suitable food and shelter was provided for these spirits
or else they would cast spells, cause havoc, steal infants,
destroy crops, kill farm animals and create terror as they
haunted the living.

The spirits demanded placating by giving them a type of worship
and offering.
This is the action that "Trick-or-Treat" emulates today.

The Samhain celebration used nuts, apples, skeletons, witches
and black cats.
Divination and auguries were practiced as well as magic to seek
answers for the future.
Black cats were considered to be reincarnated beings with the ability
to divine the future.
During this festival supernatural beings terrified the populace.

The Samhain festivals would frequently involve bonfires,
of which bones of slaughtered animals
including bones
of humans
were sacrificed were thrown into.
(This is where the name originated, called bone-fires,
the name evolved into the current day: bonfire)

Pranks and mischief began to be played out to represent the
mischievous behavior
attributed to witches and the fairies. Trick-or-Treat came from
and ancient Druid practice.

Traditional Halloween symbols appeared in
the U.S. during the late 1800's.
Witches, black cats, death's head cut from a pumpkin, candles, masks,
parties and pranks were used.

To pray for the dead is against scripture.

If someone knows Jesus before death, their spirit is already with
the Lord.
Paul says 'to be absent from the body is to be at home with
the Lord',
2 Corinthians 5:6.

If someone is an unbeliever at death, the scripture says there is
no second chance as it is appointed unto man once to die and
after that the judgment.

The Bible instructs us to have nothing to do with the deeds of darkness.

Both Christian and Jew are forbidden to participate in
the occult practices
Deuteronomy 18:10
.

Avoid wicked Customs:

“When you come into the land which the  Lord your God is giving you,
you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations.

There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his
daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft,
or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or
one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one
who calls up the dead.

Halloween glorifies death in worship to Baal or the devil.
The Druid festival of Samhain was a celebration of death.
Strutting its hellish death images of skulls, skeletons,
ghosts, demons, devils and incarnate evil, today’s
Halloween also glorifies Death.

For all who do these things are an abomination
to the Lord, and because of these abominations
the Lord your God drives them out from before you."
Deuteronomy 18:9-12

'For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly
place.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.'
Ephesians 6:12-13
