Veteran's Day:

There are about 1.3 million
Americans are in active duty military,
and another 1 million serve in the
reserves, according to the
Department of Defense.

Freedom isn't Free.

And to those who sacrificed their
lives to make America the Free.
We Thank You and Salute You.
God Bless You All.

The brave men and women who have
served in the military of the
United States are honored on
Veterans Day.

Veterans Day is officially observed
on November 11th.

Observances are held throughout the
country on this federal holiday in
the form of prayer services, rallies,
parades, patriotic speeches, and
grave-side flag displays.
Special services are held at the Tomb
of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington
National Cemetery in Arlington,
Virginia, on Veterans Day.

In 1919, President Woodrow Wilson
proclaimed November 11th as
Armistice Day to remind
Americans of the tragedies of war.

It wasn't until 1938 when it became
a holiday.

In 1954, Congress changed the holiday's
name to Veterans Day to honor
all United States veterans.

Remember to say
"Thank you"
to veteran.

Unfortunately, during and even after
the Vietnam War many people have
failed to show our veterans the
respect and honor that they deserved.

And, if you know a Vietnam veteran,
make a special effort to say
"Thank You" to them.

The Soldier:

When the country is in need
it has always been the soldier.

It is the soldier, not the newspaper
reporter who has given us
Freedom of the Press.

It is the soldier, not the poet
who has given us
Freedom of Speech.

It is the soldier, not the campus
organizer who has given us
Freedom of Demonstration.

It is the soldier who salutes
the flag,
Who serves under the flag,
It is the soldier who is called
upon to defend our
America way of life.

'Amazing Grace'

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.

When we’ve been there ten thousand
years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
(PTSD):
it wasn't invented by Vietnam
Veterans.
It was called "shell shock"
and other names in previous
wars.
It also can be caused by a
car accident or other traumatic events.
It does not have to be war related.
