The Catholics call the pope 'holy father'
No one can take the title of 'holy' anything,
because only God is holy.
Every time a catholic person calls the pope
"Holy Father"
they are calling him God.
The name "Holy Father" is found only once time in
the
entire Bible and it refers to God the Father.
They are calling the pope by God's name.
It is blasphemy to call a man by God's name.
"Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the
world,
and I come to You. Holy Father ( God ), keep through Your
name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one
as We are."
John 17:11
'Do not
call anyone on earth your father;
for One is your Father, He who is in
heaven.'
Matthew 23:9
As far as referring to your biological father as “father”,
it's
not what Jesus was talking about.
Jesus was denouncing the Jewish scribes and Pharisees for
rejecting Him as their Messiah, making themselves above
others with titles such as “Teacher” and “Master.”
They looked to be called “Father," as if they were the
source of
truth rather than God.
Matthew 23:1-12
Jesus alone is the author of our salvation, source
of comfort in
difficulties, and strength.
He is the only One to whom our prayers should be
directed.
No one else has the right to say, “Look to me
to meet your
spiritual needs.”
Jesus’ warning against calling men “father” is a caution
against pride and hypocrisy.
The Roman Catholic Church teaches
that their priests
are called; "Alter Christus," which means
literally "another Christ."
The Catholic church says; "In the rite of
ordination the phrase
“Alter Christus” reminds us that, although
Christ himself is
present to his Church, the priest
acts as “another
Christ”
by virtue of his ordination."
"The priest is not just the cross, he is
Christ Himself."
The Lone Star Catholic, March 1, 1959
"The priest is indeed
another Christ, or in some way he is himself
a continuation of Christ."
Pope Pius XI, Encyclical on the Priesthood
"In the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the priest is a substitute
of Christ
Himself. As a result of his ordination, he is a true
alter Christus."
Chronicle of a Catholic Reform, Summer 1995
Issue
'And Jesus answering them began to say, "Take heed that no
one
deceives you.
For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am He',
(Christ) and
will deceive many."
Mark 13:5-6
"For false christs and false prophets will
rise and show great
signs and wonders to deceive, if possible,
even the elect.
See, I have told you beforehand. “Therefore if they say to
you,
‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or
‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe
it."
Matthew 24:24-26
Catholic priests are also known as the "persona Christi".
Someone from a Catholic church writes:
"A priest is no ordinary human. His soul is forever
changed and
he stands in persona Christi, that is, “in the person of
Christ.”
He offers more than bread to the Father at Mass. He offers
his
very self. In a very tangible way, he is Jesus
Christ among us."
The Roman Catholic Church teaches that all sins must
be confessed
to a Catholic Priest.
No priest has the authority to forgive sins,
We go directly to God through our mediator Jesus
Christ and
be forgiven.
Jesus is the one to whom we are
to confess our sins.
'If we confess our sins, He ( God ) is faithful and
just to forgive
us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.'
1 John 1:9
And it is very clear from God's Word that Jesus, is the only
authority, other than God who can forgive sins.
Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through
this Man
( Jesus ) is preached to you the forgiveness of sins.'
Acts 13:38
The Bible also teaches that we should confess our trespasses
to each other, so we can pray for each other and
encourage each other.
'Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one
another,
that you may be healed.'
James 5:16
Jesus can save anybody, regardless of what you
have
done.
The
Catholic church nor the Vatican
can forgive sins:
The Word of God plainly states in Luke 5:21,
"Who can forgive sins, but God alone?"
In 1 Timothy 2:5 we are cautioned, "For there
is one God,
and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
Yet, Catholic priests boast of having power to forgive sin.
They don't.
Salvation is of the Lord; not the Vatican.
The Bible does not teach about Popes.
Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church (1st
Corinthians 3:11),
and no man comes between.
Former Pope Paul VI said that a person cannot be saved who
refuses to enter the Catholic church.
There's not one verse in the Bible that says you
have to enter
(or join) a religious organization to be saved.
Jesus said, “him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast
out”.
John 6:37
The Bible says nothing about coming to Jesus through
the church.
We are taught to come to God the Father only through
God the Son.
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus”.
The Bible clearly states that there is only one Person
between us
and God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ.
When the Bible speaks about the Body of Christ, it speaks of
all
true born-again believers; and not any organization,
such as the
Vatican.
Our salvation is based upon faith in Jesus alone, not
anything else.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not
of
yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works,
lest any man should boast."
Ephesians 2:8,9
Salvation is a free gift from God, paid for by the precious
blood
of Jesus Christ.
All we have to do is acknowledge our guilt of sin and turn
to
Jesus in faith; thus, receiving God's free gift
of forgiveness for our sins and eternal life.
